About Me

I am Nicole Ghezali, an abstract textile and mixed media artist based in Jávea, Spain. After a fulfilling career in the fashion retail industry, my love of textiles and fabrics transitioned into an art practice which honors sustainable practices and slow making.

Informed by an ongoing dialogue with nature, my work draws from the shifting terrains of my roots in Northern California and current home in Spain’s Costa Blanca. Across both painted and woven works, natural materials and processes evoke the textures, tones, and patterns of the environment. Working primarily on stretched linen canvas, I use natural pigments sourced from the earth, allowing the material to remain raw, tactile, and organic to evoke abstract landscapes and forms in nature. Hand-applied stitch moves across the surface as both structure and gesture, introducing rhythm and a subtle mapping of pattern to build layered abstract compositions. My weaving and mixed media practice extends this exploration of fiber, texture, and shape into dimensional work.

Alongside my own art practice, I created Made & Found Studios – an intimate private studio in Jávea for creative workshops and shared making, designed to foster creativity, connection and community and to collaborate with other artists and makers. I hope to nourish a creative journey in others through my workshops and retreats.
